HOWTO make a floating skull illusion

Instructables contributor NK5 posted a simple HOWTO on making a neat faux-hologram of a floating skull using a piece of glass (or a window!) and a computer monitor. You can even set it up to float in a window!

Even if you want to project this through a window, you'll still need a piece of glass at a 45º angle. Also, it's not so much a 'hologram' imo, more of a 'floating image' but still a cool trick.

@Pork Musket, I agree that it's not a hologram. That's why in my post post I referred to it as a faux hologram.

I went to a museum in Quebec city which had floating images of people speaking, in this manner. It's very convincing in person.

This is how Disney does the dancing ghost visuals in Haunted Mansion (for the most part) and for MGM's Tower of Terror in Orlando. It works very well indeed...
