Dr. Monkey says: "I scanned in yesterday a propaganda book about people who used to love living in East Germany before the collapse of the Wall and Communism. It was put out in 1985 and I bought it a few years ago in a thrift store in Asheville, NC for fifty cents." Link

There was a huge number of these sorts of books published in the mid-80s. About as kitschy as a communist state gets.

Great reading and fairly accessible as most any university with a good library would have copies of similar books.

It's probably safe to say that theses days 78.65% of those people are unemployed/retired, the other 21.35% are doing OK, and 68.98% secretly think that life was better back then.
