Comment registration problem at Boing Boing has been fixed
Teresa, Boing Boing's community manager says:
If you've been unable to register as a user at Boing Boing, you're not alone. Apparently there was an error in our platform that kept some registrants from getting their e-mail confirmations. This state of affairs ran from Friday, October 5, through Monday, October 8.Sorry about that.
Anyway, it's fixed now. If you tried to register while the problem was in force, you'll automatically be receiving your notification when we get our script running, so there's no need to re-register. In fact, if you try to re-register now, our software will tell you that your username is already taken -- which it is, only we haven't sent you your confirmation yet.
The notifications will be sent from noreply@boingboing.net.

Of course you won't even see login/register if you keep javascript turned off.
I'm getting an error message that says "This account has been disabled. Please see your system administrator for access." How do I go about contacting whomever can help me get my account active again? I could just create a new one, but I like that username and I would rather not have to use another email address...

Well, not really? I've registered a month ago or so and no confirmation email received. Ofcourse I don't know my "password recovery phrase" (unless it's tinkerbell) so I can't retrieve my password.
I'd love to have the username (remmelt) though, how should I proceed?
Ah, but did it fix the bug whereby I got sent a new password that didn't work?

I've been having trouble signing up since 2007-09-19 (the Harvard Bookstore story). And I am trying password recovery now, and it sends me a new password, but when I try to sign in with the new password, it says "Invalid Login".
If I go through a password recovery again, it then says
"This account has been disabled. Please see your system administrator for access."
Since my account name is my email address, it'd be nice to not have this happen. :-(
Why would I want to register at BoingBoing? I am already registered at a gazillion other sites. Nettiquette dictates that BoingBoing make it easy for the thousands that visit here to register, rather than making those thousands jump through hoops just so BoingBoing can save itself some work.
OpenID has existed for a while now. You should try it!

Just got my confirmation. My email address one still doesn't work, but fortunately, I remembered that I'd tried setting up a login name that is my email address without @domain, and that is not disabled. :-)

I got it, yay! And right after I emailed TNH, too, now knowing who exactly I should bother with this. Oops! Anyway, I'm glad it's resolved.

this was much more widespread than oct 5-9. i tried signing up back in late august or early sept and nothing happened. i sent and email to marc and got nothing either.

Today I got my email with the confirmation link in it.

Let me add another voice to the comments. This has been going on for much longer. I originally signed up for comments when Cory posted about his comic book being available online. I think that puts it to almost 3 weeks.
