Artist makes backyard periscope surveillance system

A Boing Boing readers says: "David Bynoe built a 20-foot-tall surveillance tower that is constructed out of wood and mirrors. The tower is tall enough and controllable enough that it can look down into the neighbors' back yards. Also check out his previous project of a set of hand carved wooden 9.5-foot wings that fold up into something backpack sized."

Yeah, I'd be working on setting up mirrors to reflect the sun directly into the periscope .. only if it was pointing into my yard, of course.

That periscope at Edmund's was always the highlight of the trip for me! That, and looking through their military surplus in the back room. I miss that store.
