the Ms. Pac-Man of the pair is featured on the cover of a pretty awesome book of retro video game inspired art (called 'i am 8 bit')... here.

and there's a cooler photo of this one in the 'i am 8-bit' website's gallery here.

I want to go see the next I Am 8-Bit show since I live in SoCal. I missed the first two, but from the pics I've seen online there is some brilliant stuff. They've even made a few of the pieces available as wallpapers.

Of course, everyone loves Mario and Pac-Man, but I really applaud on the inside for the artists who render scenes from less celebrated games they enjoyed, those that aren't perhaps forgotten, were even really fun, but just aren't spoken of in the same breath as the real big names. Games like Treasure Master or Kickle Cubicle on the NES. I guess I just enjoy being surprised and seeing someone make a real conscious effort to celebrate something they enjoy regardless of relative popularity.

That isn't a slam against anyone who does a Mario painting, because the artists' interpretations are all so varied and worthwhile and entertaining, and Mario is awesome. I just get a special kick when someone renders a relatively unknown subject.
