Skull illusion scarf

Images Orn-Ff-Pasha A friend of The Morning News's Pasha Malla knitted this amazing striped scarf. Look at it from a certain angle and a skull and crossbones pattern emerges from the stripes. Ysolda Teague developed the pattern and made it available free.

This pattern is very similar to an alien illusion scarf in the book Stitch and Bitch Knitters Handbook...so if aliens are more your thing.

Don't wear one in Boston.

I've seen similar patterns to this before- there is an almost identical one in the Stitch and Bitch knitter's guide but it features an alien face instead of a skull. Just wanted to throw that out there.

This isn't that new or revolutionary, but it is cool. A similar scarf was detailed in either the awesome knitting book "Stitch and Bitch" or its sequel. The S&B version is Alien Heads and they go all the way around the scarf. My fiance made me one and I wear it every winter. OH, and mine is neon green and black...so awesome!

It's in the first book.

I made a similar skull scarf myself last year, inspired by the the alien scarf in "Stitch & Bitch". You can check out a pick of it at http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=181984&l=567a4&id=614978615

Now that will make me interested in knitting, skull patterns instead of icky flowers. That's hot!

Agreed with the above -- totally a Stitch 'n Bitch imitation.
