Of the many photos I took of the LA County Fair last weekend, this one is the oddest: a sign for the Crazy Coaster ride with a girl dressed in a furry animal suit (Close-up
here). Her expression is one of helpless misery.
See more happy photos of the fair on my Flickr account. Link
*lol* What a fun find, those two vacantly happy children drawn to either side of her makes the whole thing all the better. I think I've just found a new background image for my desktop =)
I think she must be cosplaying Nadesco's Ruri Hoshino in her Neko Pajamas
This reminds me of this scan from a Worlds of Fun ad I found in a AAA magazine, where four folks who are staying "where the fun is" don't look like they're having much fun at all.
"This ride accepts 9 tickets??"
#4: "Accepts" is less blatant than "requires," I guess.
I'm trying to picture what a one-ticket ride is like:
* A flight of stairs to a slide with a smelly bum you have to squeeze past.
* Two attendants stuff you into a burlap sack and roll you down a hill.
* A ball pit, only instead of balls it's full of puppies. Hey, maybe that would be two tickets! At least if all the puppies are alive.
Wow, #3, that photo takes the cake! Do you think the guy with the donut and the kid are some some stock photo source? I have no idea how the client approved this ad.
Here's my carny photos from the Topsfield (MA) Fair, 2005. I missed last year, but I'll be back this year:

yeah, and at .50c a ticket thats $4.50 for a ride maintained by a carny with little or no oversight.
Hmmm, nope, think I'll take my chances at the deep fried snickers bars, at least I *know* those'll kill me :)

Is it just me or do the 48" and 42" marks look something other than 6 inches apart?
My girlfriend and I noticed that there were a few of these sign, each with a different kid, and they all look completely miserable. Someone need to go and take photos of all of these.
