Hey, look, it's Boing Boing on Twitter!

You can now follow Boing Boing headlines via Twitter if you are so inclined: Link .

Do keep in mind that there are generally around 20-40ish posts on any given day at BB, so that means 20-40ish tweets from us a day will show up in your "following" thread. Yes, we're update sluts.

Tech notes: I set this up in a jiff with Twitterfeed, an excellent and free service created and hosted by a fellow named Mario, who maintains a blog here.

(Special thanks to Evan Williams and Biz Stone from Twitter, and to Ivan Kanevski from Federated Media for turning me on to twitterfeed)

Or, I can just follow them by coming to Boing Boing...

So you bought the name from the person that was cyber squatting it? I looked for a boingboing Twitter the other week & found an "If you want to buy this..." message.

We did not buy the name. That guy did something that was a violation of Twitter's TOS (squatting/poaching/selling names), and lost control of the BoingBoing "domain." We then obtained it.

Ha, that's actually rather cool, I'm glad to hear that Twitter isn't tolerating cybersquatting. Good for them (and as for you guys, carry on with those slutaliciously frequent updating ways! I never realized how addicted I was until I started feeling deeply irked by the approach of the weekend and its concomitant lessening in the steady stream of BB posts =P

Goldman Sachs bankers aren't going armed after all

A couple weeks ago, I blogged a Bloomberg column by Alice Schroeder that alleged that Goldman Sachs bankers were buying handguns to protect themselves from peasant uprisings. The Wall Street Journal has investigated the claim, and they think it's bogus: New York police spokesman Paul J. Browne say... More.

Video from Mad Max campout weekend

Last month, I blogged about a group of Mad Max superfan cosplayers who hied themselves out to the desert in a variety of amazing vehicles (including a flying one-person chopper!) and costumes and spent the weekend playing at apocalypse. The event's organizer, DJ Wolfie, has put together a (mildly... More.
