Bernal Bubbles is a terrific joint - run by Ray Beldner, a local artist, he has a fantastic series of lectures (the Soapbox Series) that last month featured Annie Sprinkle. The Bubble is rapidly becoming a Bernal Heights landmark.

That's where all my odd socks are. The mystery is how they travelled from Leicester, UK to the USA!

Great post, caught my attention! Very inventive idea and would be useful in many apartments. I may copy the sock exchange idea for our building.

I wonder if this idea could be patented, lol... maybe sell it on the stock exchange :D

Gross. Who would wear another person's sock?

This reminds be of a game invented on a Burrito Run to Amherst, MA.

It's called SHOE! and it's rather simple: If you see a shoe on the road the last person to yell SHOE! must swap out one of theirs for the found shoe.

variation for those less hardcore: keep a designated SHOE! shoe in the car, to swap out.
