More big fires around the USA this week
Earlier this week on BoingBoing, I posted observations from the Griffith Park Fire, which burned very close to my home. A number of BoingBoing readers are close to two other even larger blazes that happened this week -- the fires in Georgia and Florida, and another blaze on Catalina island, offshore from LA. Here's an aerial view of the Florida/Georgia fires, seen from space.
As I understand it, that whole, massive series of blazes in the southeast was started by a single lightning strike.
