Toronto honors Jane Jacobs tomorrow with "Jane's Walks"

Toronto Mayor David Miller has instituted an annual "Jane Jacobs Day" honoring the brilliant urban planning theorist with a series of walking tours of the city, highlighting the practical evidence of Jacobs's theories. Jane Jacobs's
Death and Life of the Great American Cities is a book that will forever change how you see human habitation, community and endeavor. It's one of those books you need to read to be a literate, 21st-century human. Jacobs fell in love with Toronto -- my hometown -- and devoted a lot of great critical thought to the city.

The Jane's Walks tours are tomorrow, May 5.
