Mayor of Nagasaki gunned down by Yakuza
A Boing Boing reader says:LinkMayor Itoh of Nagasaki, an outspoken anti-nuclear activist, was shot an hour ago on the street in front of his office. He is in critical condition and he may not survive. The shooter was a member of the Yamaguchi-gumi yakuza gang, which has ties to the extreme right-wing nationalists in Japan. More on Itoh:
