Vintage steel office furniture
My wife and I got tired of using the same warped folding tables for desks for the last ten years, so we decided to treat ourselves by buying a pair of vintage steel desks. We went to Steel Casey, a cool furniture store in Studio City, CA that reconditions and repaints steel desks and other steel office furniture. The price for a beautifully restored steel desk painted any color you want, with a glass top, is $750, which is a great deal compared to other places I've seen them. (Bedfellows in Studio City charges $1500 for the same kind of desk!) The folks who work there are incredibly friendly, and they deliver, too.
In addition to desks, credenzas, bookshelves, and chairs, Steel Casey sells pinball machines, geiger counters, test tube centrifuges, and framed art. (This is an unsolicited testimonial, btw.)
