Dog eats turtle, turtle lives
A pet slider turtle named Pepper managed to survive after a golden retriever scarfed it down. Shelby Terihay, 12, of Brandon, Florida, noticed that one of her turtles had been snatched out of the bathtub by her dog Bella. Following a vet's advice, Bella's parents made the dog vomit. Even after 10 minutes in the dog's stomach, Pepper suffered only a shattered shell that the vet managed to patch up. From the Associated Press:"The turtle would definitely have caused an obstruction," (veterinarian David) Thomassy said.
