More Hodgmania: reading videos, podcasts with John Hodgman

Jesse Thorn of The Sound of Young America writes,

"The great John Hodgman and his long-time best pal Jonathan Coulton stopped by my radio show (slash podcast) for an interview this week. What awesome guys! Coulton talked about quitting programming to write songs, and Hodgman gave his secret to life." Link

Violet Blue went to a reading Hodgman gave in the Bay Area this week from his book, "Areas of My Expertise." More tour dates here. Violet uploaded video (1, 2, 3) and posted photos and writeups here and here.

They took a cognac break in the middle of the reading, and in enjoying this beverage they are in good company. Jay-Z once told The Wall Street Journal, "Cognac is a classy, sophisticated and really smooth thing to drink," and Busta Rhymes penned a loving ode to "nyak" as a beverage to be passed from one literary aficionado to another, not unlike a well-worn copy of one's favorite 19th-century British romance novel. Tally, ho!

Reader comment: kwc says,

For those that don't have enough Hodgman, I've posted video of the first half of the talk (prior to the alcohol break, Q&A, and closing hobo poem): Link
