(I grew up a JW -- what a mind job!) Growing up with cult indoctrination scared to death of Armageddon turned me into a Watchtower Zombie
A Phobic World View
The first step that the Watch Tower takes in their indoctrination of their followers is to develop the concept of the "universal war" that all people are inevitably caught up in, namely, that Satan has declared war on Jehovah, and we are automatically on one side or the other; there are no fence-sitters. If you are not doing all that the organization asks, you are on the side of the devil. Everything outside of the Watch Tower is controlled by the devil, and all persons who are not Witnesses are misled by the devil and are bad or dangerous to associate with.
An unbalanced fear of the supernatural is encouraged. Witness children are told to avoid "worldly" magazines, movies, TV shows, music, etc. Any information critical of the Watch Tower is automatically evil and dangerous. Most doctors are evil for wanting to administer blood transfusions.
Children have nightmares about mom or dad having to refuse a blood transfusion. Everything is made to appear as part of a large conspiracy to destroy Jehovah's Witnesses. Satan is feared totally out of proportion to the role as represented in the Bible.

I am a Jehovahs Wittness and i am a child and everything you have just said is not true, expessilly the part about blood, there are other thing you can have without having blood, and you should know that(if you where a Jehovahs Wittness). So all i have to say is that Jehovahs organization is a happy place 2 be in.

its a real shame that you speak only half truths. You know just enough about JW's to create trouble. Yes, we have a large attrition rate, we also have the fastest growth! I know who you are, because I went through the same thing. I grew up associated with the truth, left when I was 18, and made the truth my own in my early 20's. I made the truth my own in the fact that I proved to myself beyond any doubt, that Jehovah's Witnesses have the truth(present tense) I too went through a time of pointing fingers and blaming everyone else for what I went through, but the truth was, I brought all of my own troubles upon myself. As imperfect humans, we have the tendancy to see others faults very clearly, as far as our own shortcomings, we are not so distinct, we make exuses, or validate the way we feel through some ill-fated experience. There comes a time when people need to grow up and worry about their own relationship with Almighty God and not overly worry about others. Just like with any organization that have imperfect humans within them, there are going to be cases where things will happen that will draw negative attention to them. However as a whole, JW's are experinceing unprecidented growth, and the reason that there are so many that leave, is they stubbornly refuse to adhere to God's standards. As far as the new system coming in 1975, come on, really, we're in the 21 century, it's 2008. There has been more than enough information brought to our attention to understand everthing that has transpired between then and now-once again, you would know that IF you were a true student of the bible. If you keep going in this course, the results will not be positive, you will sow what you have reaped.
It is not too late, seek Jehovah with ernestness! Change is coming, the question is, will you be there to see it?

Any one who is out there criticizing the Jehovah's witnesses is just ridiculing themselves with the stuff they be saying.
If it was like they are saying of one having nightmares because of Armageddons. Well if that was the case what if I was raised catholic or in any other religion and was told that I was gonna go to Hell and suffer eternally for sinning then I would have ended up in the loony bin, and as far as the blood transfusion well is a choice you have to take, get the blood transfusion for fear of dying and either way if it does not work you die anyway and since your faith was so low well you wont be in paradise for not trusting in God and abstaining from blood.(Leviticus 17:14;7:26,27;Act 10:26-29;1Samuel 15:22-29;Mark 8:35-38).
All this stuff you are all putting in here are thing that probably the devil himself you to say to discredit the Jehovah's witnesses and so no one will follow them cause he(devil)knows his time is almost up and he wants to take as many people as he can with him, so he will do anything to confuse any faith full christian to do bad thing and turn away from God. I feel very sorry for all you who dare go against God and try to destroy his home by blaspheming against them.
and any one who gets to know the truth would give anything live in a place where there wont be any more dying, sick, or crippled human and corruption would it be nice to get to live for ever never die or get sick or die just for obeying and doing what Jehovah want you to do.(Psalms 37:27-29). So my advice for any one who see any criticisms about the JW they need to ask themselves this ? who are we supposed to be pleasing some human with imperfection that has nothing to give us or God who has every power in him to give or take away everything we have. Don't let yourself be fulled by false prophets if you want to know the truth read the Bible and you'll see for yourselves that the JW are not a colt they are just another church who wants to do what Jehovah God want every single human been to do which is worship him and obey his rules.
This people who insists on talking bad about them are just mad and confused cause they just wanted to do whatever they wanted to do even if meant breaking Gods rules so they take it out on the JW, but if they really see it all they are doing is pushing themselves further away from God and the chance of having eternal life in paradise.

Guys... I think they're crazy too... but I can't help but think it's not very kindly to mock them. If anything, I feel sorry for people caught up in the JW cult. Teasing them is only going to reinforce the sense of persecution, and shared persecution is what binds religious sects more effectively than faith.
ummm... if we don't openly crap on the stupid tenets of the vampire system that has seized them - along with those "elders" that collect the real estate and rape the kids - we implicitly condone their exploitation and suffering by failure to condemn what is evil.
It's tough, especially if you have the sensitivity you do, but sometimes the toilet has to be cleaned.
Trust your instincts Tenn, they are good. You are kind, if you take minimum measures to protect yourself, you will not harm anyone. Just don't turn your back on them.

I can think of three acquaintances whose lives have been severely fucked up by being raised JW. I'm talking a)jail, b)crack and c)ignoring life-threatening health issues. I'm not putting down my pitchfork this time.
I understand that Takuan, it just doesn't seem like there's much open discussion of the sins of the JW church, and more just... adding to the crap in the toilet by using ammonia and bleach mixture or something. The post itself doesn't bother me, it's just the unexplained mocking responses towards the JW posters that do. I'm guilty of it too, I know I have been.
I think I'm in an overly-sensitive mood tonight, anyway- I just got completely trash binned by someone I've wasted a lot of time and effort on. I tend to be very good will toward man when I'm trying to replace anger with understanding.

no such thing as wasted time and effort in that regard. Either they will figure it out later (maybe long after you have passed out of their life), or you will garner the lesson. You did it for the Right, not reward. Important thing is you chose not to do evil.

I was in the JWs in 1975 and let me assure you the Society had led many to believe 1975 was the end of the world and Armaggedon would come. When it didn't, they had to buy time and stated it was not known "how long Adam took to name the animals". The fate of the entire human race was left to not knowing this period. The end of the world didn't come and, in fact, it still hasn't come. If I could look in your brain, it would be filled with lies, because you believe the Jehovah's Witnesses have the "Truth", right? Here are a few of their lies: 1914, 1975, the United Nations is the "Disgusting Thing" spoken of in Revelation, they have the "only true religion", its wrong to have a blood transfusion to save a life, animals did not eat each other before the flood, man's only been on the planet for 6,000 years. Do I need to write more of their lies which have proven false? Virtually everything the Governing Body says is either a lie, half-truth, or wrong. The JWs do not have religious freedom; the Witnesses are religious slaves. How about reading the Bible and not reading the Watchtower for a change? The information you received "is more than enough" to explain why the end of the world didn't come in 1975. It didn't come, because the entire chronology of Jehovah's false Witnesses is wrong. If you really want to do good, step outside of Jehovah's Witnesses for awhile and do some research. You'll see everyone of the prophecies the JWs have proclaimed since their beginning has proven wrong. Why will they always be wrong? Because they are neither Christian nor scientificly-based. Both of these groups allow critical thinking which the JWs do not. I could go on and on here, but if you don't want to be part of the problem of cults, do us and everyone else a favor and leave this cult. Don't look back; you'll be glad you did. You want "The Truth"? The truth is Jehovah's Witnesses in a cult. This cult has cost the lives of innocent people through denial of medical needs, for example. It has cost families in many ways: shunning, lower education meaning lower paying jobs, wasted time in "field service" which could be used in much better ways. It really is a wonder this religion still exists. If it wasn't so difficult to leave it, I doubt anyone who knows the truth about this organization would really remain. If you don't believe what I've written above, let me know, so I can contact you as I'm not afraid of the truth. The truth will set you free! When I left, I disfellowedshipped myself. I called the elders and told them they were wrong and asked to be disfellowed from this cult. Best thing I ever did!!! That was the only way I could actually cut myself off from them.

First off, I have see the 1975 era and how so many went into debt thinking they would not have to repay it. (Christian?)
Also, if 97% of Blood is Accepted and the other 3% is not... Then WHY don't JW's donate blood to refill what Portions they take?
I personally have been turned into the State, Asked for my Medical records and all by ELDERS. They State sent lovely replies to me asking, "WHY IS WRONG WITH THAT CONGREGATION."
From many of the JW'S I personally know, THOUSANDS!!! Most accept less paying Jobs and then apply to the State for Food Stamps and other Programs to make up where they lack.. ( BY CHOICE ) It is one thing to have to be cut-back on hours of Employment, But to defraud the State by working less to be in the Ministry and living off Welfare is Wrong. (Christian)

The Society will not answer any letters to them if your disfellowshipped, You have to DRAG YOUR ASS back to a Hall and sit with a DUNCE CAP on in the Very Back of the Hall and Still the Elders won't talk to you. They Appear to Judge more the Jesus. And THAT is the real thing.
If a Christian is Supposed to TURN to the Christ and Jesus said, "No One comes to the Father Except THROUGH ME" Why do the Witnesses have to Accept the Organization?
I was baptized into THE Christ in 1983... WHY, Why, Why do you now have to accept the ORGANIZATION in your 2 Baptismal Questions??? I never had to!
And Finally, Why is their Love CONDITIONAL towards everyone and Christ's Love is UNCONDITIONAL. Did not Christ himself say that LOVE would be the identifying MARK of his TRUE DISCIPLES?
Did Jesus Shun the Harlot? The Leper? No, He walked up to then and said YOUR SIN'S ARE FORGIVEN. Your Supposed to Freely confess your SIN'S and MOVE ON.. Not so in a Kingdom Hall. The Elders hold EVERYTHING against you and Write it down on your Publishers Cards. So as to Always recall it as FUEL for later times (IF So..)

I just hope that they TURN to the Christ as HE and HE ALONE is our LORD and Savior... NOT some Man Made Organization that say's that Christ is the Mediator between God and the Anointed ONLY and All "Others" MUST use the Organization. Thats 7,000,000,000 People that MUST turn to the Organization to be SAVED. Yet It is By GRACE we are Saved and NOT by WORKS or how many Hours we Turn in at the End of the Month.
All I ask it this, Sit at the Halls while your there and COUNT, Yes COUNT how many Times the Body refers to Jesus as our Lord and Savior and how WE MUST turn to HIM... COUNT IT....

Anyone that cannot confess UNION between the Christ and themselves will NOT be counted as being in Union with the Father. NO WHERE in the Bible does it say we MUST be in UNION with a man-made Organization.
