Russian DJ Aptem артём hacked a cassette tape DJ rig complete with jog dials and pitch controls. The DIY gear reminds me of trance group Psychic TV in the late 1980s when Alaura would rock a rack of tape decks with her trippy sample cassettes. Free downloads of Aptem's mixes (that sound nothing like Psychic TV) are available on his site… until the server is overloaded, that is.

UPDATE: BB reader Pavel Lishin says, "Aptem isn't a very accurate transliteration, Artyom would be closer. The 'p' character is the Russian R, and the e is actually a 'yo' sound."
