Joyland, a derelict 40-acre (previously 50 acre, as in "50 acres of fun!") amusement park in Wichita is up for sale on eBay, lock, stock and barrel. The park is over 50 years old, with old carousels and a big old roller-coaster. Bidding starts at $1.6 mil.

"It's lovely that people have wonderful memories, but it should have closed 10 years ago. If you want proof that Wichita is resistant to change, all you need is a visit to Joyland. Simple and quaint is cute but ragged and scary is not."
"Obviously some people lack the appreciation for rollercoaster history. Sure, the rollercoaster looks as if it it could fall apart at any given moment, but it's still one of the best rollercoasters I've ever ridden. Joyland is one of those places that I can go with my friends on weekends and have fun. Joyland is part of Wichita's history, and it's a fine part of it. Where else can you ride a 55 year old coaster? The old part is the thrill. Joyland is DIRT cheap, and a nice place to take children. It may be a beginners themepark but with those prices, how could you resist going without kids. A good place for dates, and etc. Just last year I moved out to Virginia, near the District of Columbia and I've been to parks around the globe. From California to Texas, to Maryland to Virginia, to Florida, and places in between, I prefer and miss Joyland. I'm a hard to please 13 year old girl and i'm appreciative of my small town theme park, because other towns are not lucky enough to have their own lil' themepark."
