Words affect our enjoyment of smells


Words can dramatically affect how we perceive smells. In a new scientific
study, researchers presented people with the smell of cheddar cheese but labeled the smell with either the words "cheddar cheese" or "body odor." The subjects enjoyed the smell much more when it was referred to as the former. Brain scans showed that pleasant words activated a certain part of the brain region that processes smells. Link
