Human and pig kidneys grown in mice
Israeli scientists have grown human and pig kidneys in mice from stem cells. Amazing to see a Jewish state willing to set aside any kosher-derived aversion to pigs in the service of science, while the nominally secular US has all but abandoned stem-cell research to appease lunatic-fringe religionists.
A team headed by Prof. Yair Reisner of the Weizmann Institute of Science has induced human stem cell tissue to grow into functional kidneys, and have accomplished the same with porcine stem cell tissue.Link Discuss
